Indian Embassy in Qatar to be shifted to new location

Doha: The task of relocation of Embassy of India, Doha from its old Hilal area to its new premises villa No.86 & 90, Street No. 941, Al Eithra Street, Zone 63, Onaiza, and Doha will be undertaken from Wednesday, 22 June till Sunday, 26 June, 2016 noticed by relevant sources body.

During this period (22-26 June, 2016), the Embassy will not be able to render consular and other services, which will be fully resumed from the new premises with effect from Monday, 27 June, 2016.

Suneel Thapliyal, first secretary of India told that, during the period of shifting, Embassy officials would also be checking respective E-mails which are publicized through its website: www.indianembassyqatar.gov.in

Government of India has approved the Embassy’s relocation to a better Chancery premises with a view to further enhance the efficiency of services to the Indian community and the public at large in the State of Qatar.

As an internet search and visit to the new premises and its surroundings would demonstrate, the total parking available near the new premises is more as compared to the existing premises. The same is the case with the overall availability of public transport, the details of which may be perused at www.mowasalat.com. The nearest bus stations for the new location are City Centre and Qatar Sports Club. When Doha Metro starts operating, Al Qassar will be the nearest metro station.

In anticipation of its relocation, the Embassy had requested the authorities concerned in Government of Qatar to kindly increase the number of buses to the close vicinity of the new premises. The Embassy’s request is under positive consideration.

Further, in view of the increasing volume of consular services, the Embassy’s proposal for outsourcing of the collection of consular applications and delivery of documents after rendering services is under Government of India’s consideration.

The Embassy accords utmost priority to its regular, active and inclusive outreach to the Indian community in Qatar, and to rendering efficient services to them and other members of the public.

However, the Embassy will attend to any cases of genuine emergency even during the period of its relocation. The Embassy’s Help Lines for this purpose during the period of relocation are as follows:
