Mangaluru: GC-14 cum Diamond Jubilee celebrations of NITK Surathkal campus on Dec 23,24 are expecting a heavy footfall from global alumni this is being organised by the NITK Alumni Association.
‘Global Convention-14 in the Milieu of the Diamond Jubilee (2020)’ is being held on Dec 23,24 2022 on the NITK campus organised by the NITK Alumni Association. The two-day program will have four sessions. Prof. Trilochan Sastry, IIM, Bangalore will be the chief guest.
Kirtiraj Salian (Global President, NITKSAA), S.R.Bala( General Secretary, NITKSAA), and V.B.Parvatikar (Convenor GC-14, Alumnus NITK) are the organising chair of GC-14.
During the GC-14, an ‘Entrepreneur’s Lane‘ will display products developed/produced by our Alumni across the globe. Valves, Material Handling Equipment, Drone Maintenance services, Polyurethan rollers etc are a few of the products that will be on display.
An ‘Author’s Corridor’ will exhibit books written by NITK Alumni. More than 35 authors will display their books during the event. Around 6 PM Vasudhendra will address an author’s workshop on ” Why Literature for Engineers “.
A visit has been arranged for Chief Guests and alumni of various batches to the Central Research facility (CRF), Centre for System Design (RF, CSD) and the Biowaste Recycling Plant.
The SEG Impact Dirt e-bike designed by CSD, NITK will be released during the GC-14. Alongside, there are various cultural events organised to encourage and support local talent.
This year’s GC-14 is expecting a footfall of more than 600 from across the globe, including alumni settled in the USA, Africa, the UAE, Australia and New Zealand.
Prof. Prasad Krishna, NITK Director (additional charge), and an alumnus of the NITK batch of 1983 will preside.
