Hyderabad: Defending champions Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Odisha started their Super8 campaigns with wins in the IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket for the Blind being played here at the AYR Cricket Stadium and Masters Cricket Stadium. Andhra thumped Chandigarh by 195 runs while Karnataka thrashed Delhi by 10 wickets. Odisha beat Haryana by 59 runs while Gujarat beat Jharkhand by 8 wickets.

In the Group A match played at the Masters Cricket Ground, Andhra thrashed Chandigarh by 195 runs. Batting first Andhra scored a massive 278 runs in their 20 overs aided by a century from D. Venkateshwara Rao who scored 122 runs in just 52 balls with the help of 22 boundaries and one six. He shared a first-wicket partnership of 143 runs for the first wicket with A. Ravi scored 54 runs. Indian team captain Ajay Kumar Reddy finished the innings in a flurry by scoring a quick-fire unbeaten 66 of just 24 balls. Chasing a massive target, Chandigarh faltered from the start and could not handle the pressure eventually being bowled out for 83 runs in 18 overs. Only Mau Jahid Khan and Vikas Sahani could manage double figures for Chandigarh. Govinda Raju took 2 wickets for Andhra while others bowlers also chipped in with useful spells.

In the other match in Group A, Odisha started their campaign with a dominating victory over Haryana by 59 runs. Batting first, Odisha scored 212/3 in their 20 overs. Opener Sukhram Majhi top scored with an unbeaten 86 runs. Parveen Kumar Sharma took two wickets for Haryana. In reply, started well with Deepak Mallik scoring briskly. His dismissal slowed down the innings for Haryana and eventually they fell short of the target. Their innings ended at 153/6 in 20 overs. Rambir Singh top-scored for Haryana with 57 runs while Deepak scored 34 runs. Sukhram Majhi took two wickets for Odisha.

In the Group B Super 8 fixture played at the AYR Cricket Ground, Karnataka beat Delhi by 10 wickets to open their campaign on the front foot. Batting first, Delhi could only manage 153/4 in their 20 overs. Opner Alok Kumar top scored with 49 runs while Manish Kumar scored 40. The other opener Akshay Verma scored 24 runs while Vipin Kumar remained unbeaten on 25. Chasing a modest total, Karnataka openers Prakash Jayaramaiah and Javare Gowda broke no sweat in knocking down the total in just 17.1 overs. Prakash scored a brilliant century and remained unbeaten on 119 of 68 balls with the help of 16 boundaries. Javare Gowda remained unbeaten on 24.

In the other match of Group B, Gujarat got the better of Jharkhand by 8 wickets. Batting first, Jharkhand were not able to create any momentum in the innings as they lost wickets at regular intervals. They ended their innings at 140/9 in their 20 overs. Anish Kumar top scored with 32 runs. Ganesh Muhudkar and Naresh Tumda scalped 2 wickets each for Gujarat. Chasing a small total, Gujarat did not create any complications in the chase as they knocked the target in just 14.4 overs losing just 2 wickets. Opener Dinesh Rathva top scored with 53 runs.
