Mangalore: The decision of the Congress to field Moidin Bava from Mangalore North constituency seems to have brought in fresh trouble for the Congress. Already, there is much anger in the former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty camp which had put forth a demand for a ticket for its candidate.
It may be recalled here that Shetty was one of the strong aspirants for a ticket from Mangalore North and no sooner the Congress announced its candidate from the constituency, Shetty supporters were on the streets of Suratkal.
There is anguish among them and many are also pressurizing their leader to contest as an independent. The reaction of Vijaykumar Shetty is not yet known.
The Congress had to face a similar problem even in Mangalore South when supporters of Ivan Lobo, one of the strong aspirants has staged a protest against the confirmation of party ticket to JR Lobo. However, later the dissidents agreed to honour the decision of the party.
