Udupi: The Popular Front of India (PFI) protestors were held for blocking road without a permit close to the Old Diana Circle here on Friday September 23.

Udupi Town Police arrested the protestors. The PFI activists identified as Sadiq Ahmad (40), Afroz K. (39), Ilias Saheb ( 46), Irshad ( 37), Fiaz Ahmad ( 39), Muhammad Ashraf ( 43), A Haroun Rashid, Mohammad Juraiz ( 42), Isak Kidwai ( 30), Shaukat Ali (31), and Mohammad Zahid ( 24).

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided the leaders’ homes and offices on Thursday September 22, and the PFI protested with the road block.

Inspector Pramod Kumar claimed in his complaint that “the PFI activists staged the protest on the streets without permission, causing trouble to citizens and blocking easy traffic movement. We had to use force to break the group when they wouldn’t leave the protest area.”
