Nidle :”We have gathered prior information that a conspiracy has been hatched to attack the pro-Sowjanya protest meet at Nidle. In the event of any such attack, then we will have to stage a protest in front of Dharmasthala Kshetra by gathering lakhs of people. Let those hatching a conspiracy be aware of this fact,” said Mahesh Shetty Timarody, District President of Prajaprabhutva Vedike.
He was speaking at a protest meet held here seeking a CBI probe under Supreme Court surveillance into Sowjanya rape and murder case and the innumerous cases of suspicious deaths in Dharmasthala over the past several years.
On this occasion, Timarody also urged the police department to look into the call details of those hatching the conspiracy and initiate suitable steps.
Writer Athrady Amritha Shetty in her address, ” wanted to know why the elected representatives of the district have remained mum on the Sowjanya case at a time when they do not hesitate in speaking against the rape cases taking place in other parts of the nation. It is nothing but our tragedy that the culture of bowing before feudal lords still persists,” she said.
Babi Gowda Koyyur, father of Dinesh Gowda who was killed in a suspected case of deliberate accident, said ” My son Dinesh Gowda who was part of pro-Sowjanya protest was murdered after colliding a Bolero vehicle against his two-wheeler near Koyyur Cross. A day prior to the incident, the person responsible for the murder had a tiff with my son over the issue of putting up a pro-Sowjanya banner. He had even in the past tried to kill him in a similar fashion.”
Devananda, father of Padmalatha who had met a suspicious death in Dharmasthala 25 years ago, Dr BR Harale, husband of Vedavalli of Ujire who too died an unnatural death, social activist Vishnumurthi Bhat, Sowjanya’s mother Kusumavathi and uncle Vittal Gowda were on the dais.
