Mangaluru: A young engineering dropout from Mangaluru, Sohan Rai, has developed an autonomous drone for pizza delivery. The drone successfully completed two test runs, covering a distance of 1.5 km in just two minutes to deliver a pizza.
Rai has been passionate about robotics and technology for the past seven years and managed to build this prototype with a 1kg payload capacity. He envisions further improvements for commercial use in the future.
Previously, Rai and his team won the Smart India hackathon in 2020 with a hybrid VTOL drone aimed at delivering medicines.
