Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Koorma Rao M has instructed the officials concerned to take necessary steps to ensure that there is no law and order lapse during Bakri eid celebrations across the district.
He was speaking after chairing a meeting of the district committee constituted to prevent unauthorized slaughter and transportation of cattle during Bakri eid celebrations through virtual mode. He directed the concerned department to form various teams under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act to prevent unauthorized slaughter of animals and keep a vigil.
At the check posts deployed across the district, care should be taken to ensure that cattle are not transported unauthorisedly, he said, adding that appropriate steps should be taken to ensure that no wrong incident takes place, he instructed the officials of the concerned department to preserve the cattle in the identified Gaushalas for their protection in case of unauthorized seize of cattle, and said that if such cases are found, the public should inform the nearest police station.
Zilla Panchayath Chief Executive Officer Prasanna H, District Superintendent of Police Akshay M Hake, Kundapur Sub-Divisional Officer Rashmi SR, Municipal Commissioner Ramesh Nayak, Animal Husbandry Department Deputy Director Dr. B.S.
