Hubballi: I have not received any invitation from Congress leaders to join the Congress party so far. I am currently working as an ordinary worker in the BJP and actively participating in party organization, clarified former secretary Shankar Patil Munenakoppa.
In a press conference today, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, while providing clarity on this matter, stated that there are friends and well-wishers from the Congress party background, but so far, no Congress leaders like the National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, or VIP member Jagadish Shettar have approached him to discuss joining the Congress. Hence, there is no truth in the speculation that he is leaving the BJP,” he said.
I have no aspirations for any Lok Sabha election ticket. I have no interest in it. If I have to make any political decision, I will discuss it with the leaders of all 8 taluks in the district and make a decision together. So far, I haven’t held any meetings in this regard,” he said.
It’s true that there are differences of opinion among party leaders in the BJP, and several BJP leaders in Dharwad district have already left the party. Now the responsibility lies with the Central Secretary Pralhad Joshi,” he added.
When the BJP was in power previously, there was dissatisfaction among corporation members regarding the allocation of responsibilities. Mistakes were made in the past. However, such mistakes should not happen in the future. The speculations I am making now about the BJP are far from the truth. If such a situation arises in the future, I will publicly clarify,” he said.
At the same time, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa had spoken, stating that he would make the next political decision in January, confirming the news of him joining the Congress, which is currently circulating.
