Vijayanagara: Fans celebrate Dr Puneeth’s death anniversary

Vijayanagara: On the occasion of Puneeth Rajkumar’s first death anniversary, Appu fans garlanded the statue of Puneeth Rajkumar in the City on Saturday October 29.

The fans, who brought a Kannada torch from Hampi Bhuvaneshwari Devi Temple, displayed Puneeth’s portrait and shouted slogans in support of Appu. Tourism Minister Anand Singh and his son Siddharth Singh garlanded the statue of Appu and paid homage.

Congress leader H. N. Mohammed Imam Niazi, and Nadaf/Pinjaar Community leaders garlanded the statue of Puneeth.

Puneeth Rajkumar’s fans offered ‘Annasanthapana’ at Puneeth Rajkumar Circle and Chittavadgi in the City to commemorate his first death anniversary.

Puneeth Rajkumar’s statue in the City is being paid a daily tribute by one of his fans by offering daily pooja. Appu’s fan Umesh, who is a daily devotee of Appu, has performed the pooja without stopping for a single day.

Thousands of people flock to see Puneeth Rajkumar’s statue near the bus stand in the City every day. Tourists visiting Hampi pay their respects to Puneeth’s statue and click selfies.

Youth Leader Siddharth Singh donated bicycles and books to five poor girl students to mark the first death anniversary of actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
