Shivamogga: The district BJP has expressed strong condemnation over the recent Ragigudda communal clash and is preparing for a protest. They intend to block a city road on Thursday to voice their discontent with how the government has managed the situation.
District BJP President, TD Meghraj, spoke with the media, emphasizing that the Ragigudda violence has garnered statewide attention and is deeply distressing. He raised concerns about the government’s handling of the incident and criticized certain ministers for making what he sees as immature and biased statements that appear to devalue Hindu lives.
Meghraj further highlighted the BJP’s efforts to assess the situation in Ragigudda, where they believe there is a deliberate attempt to create insecurity and fear among the Hindu minority, possibly leading to their displacement. He also pointed out that a significant number of houses in the area are rented exclusively to Muslims, raising suspicions of external interference.
The BJP has reached out to the district administration multiple times, expressing worries about radical elements that could threaten the peace in Ragigudda, potentially extending to the Gram Panchayat level. They are now planning a protest to address these concerns without causing public inconvenience. The protest will take place on Thursday, the 12th, with a road blockade scheduled in front of the Mathura Paradise hotel. Prominent BJP leaders, including KS Eshwarappa, BY Raghavendra, BY Vijayendra, and SN Channabasappa, are expected to participate.
Meghraj stressed that their goal is to end oppression against Hindus in minority areas and draw attention to the numerous cases filed against Hindu youths in connection with the incident. He also noted the suspension of honest police officer Abhay Prakash (PI) in relation to the Ragigudda riots.
