Bengaluru: Chris Anjen Baptist and Sumith A.R emerged as state champions in under 17 boys category with a 21- 17,21-9 win over Sankeerth P and Kshitij Deepak, at the State Subjunior U-15, U-17 Badminton State Championship tournament held in Bellary, from 21-07-23 to 26-07-23.
Sumith A.R. also clinched mixed doubles crown partnering Anvitha Vijay with a 21-13,21-13 win over Siddarth Ginturi and Mounitha A S.
Chris Anjen Baptist and Sumith A.R. are students of SDM PU College Ujire and currently are being trained at Selenite Sports Academy, Bengaluru, under the able guidance of Vinod Kumar U, former international player.
