Cairo: Two countries that signed a peace deal with Israel in the Hamas conflict have now turned against Israel. Egypt and Jordan sharply criticized Israel’s action in Gaza at the Cairo summit on Saturday.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi reiterated his rejection of relocating Gaza’s 2.3 million Palestinians to the Sinai Peninsula and issued a warning against any actions aimed at destroying Palestine.
The King of Jordan echoed a similar sentiment, expressing concern over the actions taken by Israel, which are considered a violation of international law and a clear red line for all. He emphasized the commitment to preventing any attack on Palestine, particularly given Jordan’s significant population of Palestinians who have been displaced by past conflicts in the Middle East.
