Udupi: The Congress party has distanced itself from the comments made by Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, in which he criticized Sanatan Dharma. The party’s high command has already emphasized that its ideology is based on the principle of equality among all religions. Ramesh Kanchan, President of the Udupi Block Congress Committee, stated that the BJP is attempting to portray the Congress party as being against Hinduism by associating Minister Uday Stalin’s statement with the Congress party.
There is no need for us to take lessons from the BJP, which often fosters division based on caste and religion. The Congress Party has consistently worked towards the progress of all individuals, regardless of their caste or religion. The various schemes introduced by the Congress party have benefitted people from all faiths. We’d also like to remind those who criticize the Congress party that our party has contributed significantly to the nation’s strength through constructive programs aimed at the betterment of people from all religious backgrounds,” he stated.
