Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based businessman has leveled cheating accusations on Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, founders of Indian e-commerce major Flipkart.

In his complaint, Naveen Kumar(33), owner of C-Store alleged that the Bansals and three other Flipkart officials namedly Hari, Sumit Anand and Sharauqe( from the sales and accounts department of the firm) had duped him to the tune of Rs 9.96 crore. The FIR was lodged on November 21 at the Indiranagar police station.

As per an agreement entered between C-Store and Flipkart, the former had supplied 14,000 laptops to the firm for its Big Billion Days campaign from June 2015 to June 2016. While 1,482 units were returned, Flipkart did not pay dues for the remaining laptops as well as shipping charges and TDS amounting to Rs 9,96,21,419, states the complaint.

Further, it mentions that the e-commerce major claimed to have returned 3,901 units when it was asked to clear the dues.

A case has been registered under different sections of IPC, including those related to cheating and criminal breach of trust, an official involved in the investigation said.

Meanwhile Flipkart has refuted the accusations made in the FIR as “false and baseless” and has stated that it is exploring all available legal possibilities to safeguard its interests, including but not limited to initiating proceedings for defamation against the complainant.

“The FIR appears to be nothing but an endeavour to harass and pressurise the company to succumb to baseless demands,” a statement of Flipkart reads.
